Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 July 2026

1. Who we are

Guiding Light Dawah ("we", "us", "the platform") provides a website and, in future, a mobile app offering Islamic educational content, character-tracking tools, and related services. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract to create a standard account. Accounts for children require a parent or guardian's involvement through any dedicated family/kids feature, once introduced.

3. Your account

Sign-in uses passwordless magic links sent to your email. Keep access to that email address secure — anyone with access to it can sign in to your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Content and sourcing

Where the platform presents religious content (Quran, hadith, fiqh positions), we aim to cite sources clearly and represent legitimate scholarly differences fairly. This content is provided for educational purposes and is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified scholar for personal religious rulings.

6. No professional advice

Any wellbeing, mental health, or health-adjacent content or referral features are informational and facilitative only. They are not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or legal advice. In a crisis, contact emergency services or a licensed professional directly.

7. Payments and subscriptions

Where paid features are offered, pricing and billing terms will be shown clearly before purchase. All monetisation is structured to be halal-compliant: subscription and one-time purchase models only, no interest-based charges, and transparent, disclosed fees for any referral services.

8. Intellectual property

The Guiding Light Dawah name, logo, and original content are our property or used under licence. You may not reproduce or redistribute platform content commercially without permission.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The platform is provided "as is." While we take care to ensure accuracy of sourced religious content, we do not guarantee it is free of error, and users are encouraged to verify significant matters with a qualified scholar. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
